Welcome to the Pyrenees Wine Region – home of award-winning wines, relaxed cellar doors and unspoilt landscapes. Less than two hours' drive from Melbourne, 50 minutes from Ballarat and one hour from Bendigo, take the road less travelled and unearth the Pyrenees.

Day One

Mount Avoca

This stunning sandstone cellar door, overlooks the vines and Pyrenees ranges. Meet the winemaker and discover a little about what makes Mount Avoca Wines so delicious. Spend the afternoon playing petanque or cycling around the picturesque vineyard.

Blue Pyrenees Estate

Blue Pyrenees Estate's Cellar Door has a wide selection of wine for you to try as well as grazing dishes showcasing fresh local produce. Enjoy indoors or outdoors in the garden. Tutored tastings and tours are available by appointment.

Vinoca Road, Avoca

Sally's Paddock

Sally’s Paddock is a family owned boutique winery that has a long established reputation for producing outstanding quality red varietals and blends. The terrace is a fantastic spot to enjoy a glass of wine, a platter and soak up the beautiful views of the Pyrenees.

Sunraysia Highway, Redbank

Bigibila

This boutique winery specialises in high quality, full bodied red wines and has a wonderful outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy your wine and a Bigibila grazing platter overlooking spectacular views.

Polleters Road, Moonambel

Equus at Moonambel

Sip a range of award-winning wines made by Owen Latta while enjoying 360 degree views of the Pyrenees ranges. Then, if you so desire – finish with a tour of the on-site wooden horse museum (by appointment), or purchase a children's book autographed by the author, owner Patricia Mullins.

Day Two

Peerick

Peerick produce limited quantities of their premium wines so you won’t find it in your local bottle shop, but it is well worth a visit to the cellar door. With a visit to Peerick, you will find yourself chatting to the owners while tasting wines.

Taltarni

Visit Taltarni cellar door and relax amongst the rolling, rugged hills and stunning backdrop of the Pyrenees ranges. The sweeping vistas provide the perfect place to unwind in the cellar door, enjoying award‐winning and cellar door‐exclusive wines. Book a private winery tour and barrel tasting to get the full Cellar Door experience!

Taltarni Road, Moonambel

Summerfield Winery

This extensively renovated and extended café and cellar door now includes an indoor/outdoor dining space for up to 50 guests, which overlooks the beautiful winery gardens. With an emphasis on locally sourced and homegrown products, Summerfield Winery offers guests the best of the Pyrenees region. Summerfield specialises in wood‐fired pizzas, stone baked artisan poolish sour dough breads and has a delicious gourmet deli. The perfect accompaniment to the bold, award-winning red wines the vineyard is renowned for.

Dogrock Winery

Perched on the Western side of the Pyrenees mountain range 30 minutes from Moonambel, Dogrock's cellar door is well worth a little extra drive. With spectacular views of Mount Langi Ghiran and the Grampians, the cellar door experience includes tastings of Dogrock's award-winning range (Halliday scores aplenty) which featuring lesser-known varieties such as Tempranillo, Grenache, Touriga Nacional and Graciano.

Degraves Road, Crowlands

Wimmera Hills & Mrs Bakers Stillhouse

High in the upper reaches of the Wimmera basin where grazing country meets rugged forest, follow a winding country road into the Pyrenees foothills from Elmhurst to find yourself at Wimmera Hills. Sample red wine and a range of delicious spirits (often made using home grown botanicals) hand crafted in the stillhouse adjacent to the tasting room.
